Wow, it is hard to believe that a year has already passed and this holiday season is once again upon us. Yes, this Wednesday is NATIONAL HOT DOG DAY!! The parades, the pageantry, and celebrations.
So, lets make a hot dog a little less boring, and do some simple math. Hot Dog=good Bacon=Great Hot Dog + Bacon =Greatest.
A Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog is a flavor packed combination. And if you use quality ingredients, which there are only 3 of, it is a beefy tube of joy in a blanket of goodness.
Enjoy the day, and enjoy these dogs.
Cheers

Ingredients
4 Hot Dogs
4 Hot Dog Buns
4 Strips Applewood Smoked Bacon
Directions
- Preheat the grill over high heat (approximately 400 degrees F). Rub the grill grates with olive oil or spray with a non-stick cooking spray so that the hot dogs do not stick to the grill.
- Put the hot dogs on the grill. Place the hot dogs with bacon on the grill. Cook with the grill lid closed for 8-12 minutes (turning them every 2-3 minutes) until the bacon is browned and crispy.
- Remove the hot dogs from the grill. Allow them to sit for 5 minutes. Remove the toothpicks. Then serve on the hot dog buns and enjoy!
Notes
- Do not go cheap on these ingredients. It is a basic recipe, 3 ingredients, so do not go with generic dogs, bacon or buns. Try a good kosher all beef dog, or a Wagyu dog if you can. Applewood smoked bacon, uncured, adds an awesome flavor, and go with a nice thick brioche bun. What can I say, I am a hot dog elitist. 🙂
